Enjoying the Summer across North Wales
We’ve enjoyed some great weather this summer so far, and the Radio Glan Clwyd team have been out and about, supporting local events in the sunshine!
The Henllan extravaganza, on Saturday 17 June, was a great success once again with a record number of visitors at this year’s event. Congratulations to all of the participants and winners in each of the competitions, from arts and crafts to the children’s running races. On 23/24 June, we collected over £300 in Rhyl whilst entertaining shoppers at both Morrisons and at Matalan over the course of the weekend. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to our collections.
On Saturday 1 July, we were helping the team at McDonalds in Flint celebrate their 20th anniversary. Many thanks to the management and staff for their warm welcome.
It was the annual fun day at the Rhyl Botanical Gardens on Sunday 2 July. Cllr Pete Prendergast opened the event at 11am, and the entertainment was provided by the Rhyl Youth Marching Band and the Vale Singers. Professional tennis coach, Chris Turner, was running sessions and lessons throughout the afternoon, and there were stalls and competitions too. Radio Glan Clwyd presenters Brenda Jones, Tony Mannix, Andy Hayes and Ceri Jones were joined by our local representative, Ann Jones AM for a chat, and the day concluded with the presentation of prizes and trophies from the day’s bowls competition.
We’ve still got lots of events to come this season, and of course, if you see our team at a local event, come and request a song and meet our team!
