Out on the road in 2018
The Radio Glan Clwyd outside broadcast team have been out on the road already this year, with collections at Tesco Abergele, and at Tesco in Ruthin. Many thanks to the staff at both of those stores for their warm welcome and hospitality, and to all of the shoppers who were able to contribute to our collections. We are a registered charity, and we rely on donations to keep the radio station on air. The Radio Glan Clwyd team played requests for the hard working staff, and were announcing the deals available in store.
At the start of the year, our chairman and secretary decided to step down. We thank them for their hard work whilst in post. Until our AGM later in the year, presenter Martin Halstead (left) becomes our acting chairman. Martin is keen to increase the number of volunteers contributing to the running of Radio Glan Clwyd, and to increase the awareness of the radio station both in the hospital and across the community. We wish him well in this role.
The Sunday Show with Wyn and Luke – Sundays 4-7pm
Presenters Wyn Meirion and Luke Faux are on air every Sunday between 4 and 7pm, and have regular special guests and live performances for you to enjoy. On 18 February, Shalane and rock’n’roll Pete played a live set (left). You can see a clip of the performance on our Facebook page.
On 25 February, guest David Jones will be talking about the ‘Little Dragon Festival’, which is being held in July, to raise money for children’s services at Glan Clwyd Hospital. The festival line up includes Scouting for Girls and Goldie Lookin Chain. Live music will be provided by Robin Wynne Jones.
