Fundraising Concert – 17 June 2016
As part of our efforts to raise funds to keep Radio Glan Clwyd on the air, we held a fundraising concert on Friday 17 June 2016. It took place at the Little Theatre on Vale Road in Rhyl, from 7.30 to 9.30pm. The total amount raised was £366.15 – and the evening was enjoyed by all.
There was a great variety of acts for the audience to enjoy. Performances were given by:
Our very own radio presenter Richard Ablitt, who played a number of pieces on the piano,
The North Wales School of Dance,
Joe -Bateman – an Elvis impersonator,
Vocalist Jessica Griffiths performed numbers from the show ‘Wicked’,
The Vale of Clwyd choir.
There were refreshments and competitions such as a raffle and tombola too. Committee member Tony Mannix was the compere for the evening; he also performed a few numbers himself.
A big thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the evening, from the performers to the organisers, and of course, the audience who gave up their evening to come and support the event. Here are a few photographs from the event.
Members of local dance and drama groups performed a range of numbers as part of the concert.
Below, Tony Mannix introduces the acts, and the youngsters from the ‘North Wales school of Dance’ perform their dance routines with real energy!
