Latest News – June 2018
News from the studio
Every week, we broadcast a wide range of programmes which range from specialist music shows and request shows, to news and discussion shows. Our programme schedule changes on a regular basis, particularly when new members join and complete their training in the studio. The latest changes to our schedule includes Friday tea times – Carl Sauer is on air between 4 and 6pm, with his ‘Guess the Year’ in the first hour, and his 80s hour between 5 and 6pm. He’s followed by Angie, who plays two hours of funk and soul music. We also have changes on a Tuesday; Nigel Stone now takes care of the mid morning slot, and Saz extends her show to 2 hours and is on air between 1 and 3pm. Check out the full schedule here.
We are also pleased to welcome many special guests into the studio. On Wednesday 20 June, Sue Parry from Citizens Advice Denbighshire (left) joined presenter Brenda Jones on air to talk about a range of local issues including scams, and how to avoid being caught out.
Out on the road
The summer roadshows are now in full swing! Our outside broadcast team have taken part in many events already, providing music and commentary.
Radio Glan Clwyd presenters Andy Hayes, Ceri Jones and Glyn Evans were on duty at the Henllan Extravaganza on 16 June, where the attractions included the Clwyd Axe Men, and live performances were given by Kat and Jess of the Rhyl Operatics Society.
Many of our members have also been out across the area undertaking bucket collections at locations such as Matalan in Rhyl, the Tweedmill Factory Outlet in St Asaph, and Morrisons in Denbigh. The total collected at these types of events this month is £492.79. A great effort, and many thanks to everyone who was able to contribute.
