On Wednesday 15 November, presenter Brenda Jones was joined on air by two members of the Rhyl & District Musical Theatre Company, Drew Noble and Jessica Griffiths.
Drew and Jessica were talking to Brenda about the latest show to be performed by the Rhyl & District Musical Theatre Company, ‘Jekyll and Hyde’. The show is described as a musical horror-drama, and the story is based loosely on the books by Robert Louis Stevenson, called ‘The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’. The most famous song from the show is probably ‘This is the Moment’, which is performed by Jekyll in Act 1.
The performances subsequently took place between 15-18 November, at the Little Theatre in Rhyl. Radio Glan Clwyd’s Brenda Jones went to see the show and said, ‘It was a fantastic show, with such strong singers. Drew played the lead very well and the chemistry between him and his fiance played by Jessica, was great. It was clear that so much hard work and dedication had gone in to making the show such a success, and I’d like to congratulate everyone involved, as it was truly excellent’.
The Rhyl & District Musical Theatre Group is made up of members aged between 15 and 83 years of age, who rehearse weekly at the Operatic Centre on Vale Road in Rhyl. They put on two shows per year, and previous productions have included ‘Hairspray’, ‘Guys and Dolls’ and ‘Oliver!’. For more information on the group, please visit their website.
