Out on the Road – Spring 2017
The Radio Glan Clwyd team have been out on the road again this season, undertaking bucket collections and attending community events.
Many thanks to everyone that has supported our collections in the local area in recent weeks; On 19 March we were at Tesco in Prestatyn. We were outside Homebase in Mold on 1 April, and on 8 April we were at Lidl in Colwyn Bay. Radio Glan Clwyd is a volunteer run organisation and registered charity. We rely on your donations to be able to keep the radio service on air.
On 15 April, the Radio Glan Clwyd outside broadcast team hosted ‘Easter in the Park’ in Abergele. It was a chilly and blustery day, but there was plenty going on throughout the day for all of the family. In the entertainment tent, performances were given by ‘U3A’ (a ukelele group), and singers Wendy and Richard. There were also demonstrations of Zumba which the audience were encouraged to join in with! In the ‘quiet garden’, visitors could take part in yoga and tai chi. For the children, the fun was non stop – an easter egg hunt, a den building competition, story time and an art competition. There was even a dog show organised by the team from North Clwyd Animal Rescue.
If you are involved in organising an event in the local area and would like our outside broadcast to attend, please contact us. In the coming months we look forward to attending events such as the Prestatyn Classic Car Show, the Henllan summer fete and the Abergele carnival. We are also going to be undertaking bucket collections at the Tweedmill outlet in St Asaph and at Morrisons in Denbigh, so do keep a look out for us!
