Out on the Road – Summer 2015
Well the British summer weather may not have been great, but here at Radio Glan Clwyd we have been busy up and down the North Wales coast attending events of all kinds – from summer fairs to car shows – with our outside broadcast team. Our vehicle is kitted out with everything you’d find in a radio studio, and we can support community events by acting as a PA service, playing music, introducing events and competitions, and undertaking interviews.
Prestatyn Classic Car Show
On Monday 25 May, radio members Tony, Alan, Glyn, Brenda and Andy took care of business from the look out point at the top of the vicarage car park. Not only were there hundreds of classic cars to see, but there was also a range of service and emergency vehicles for visitors to look inside. The vicarage gardens played host to the charity and local business stalls, and there was plenty to see for all of the family. Congratulations to Tim and his team of stewards for a well organised event.
Thanks to the kind shoppers of Sainsbury’s in Rhyl for their kind donations during our collection this month. Radio presenter Glyn Evans was at the helm, reading out the special deals that could be found in store, and committee member Brenda Jones collected the music requests from the shoppers.
We have also been delighted this year to attend the Rhyl carnival, the summer fair’s at both Holywell High School and at St Brigids School in Denbigh, and the summer fair at the Bradshaw Manor in Rhyl.
